Opinions and recommendations for drop links please
Investigating an intermittent clunk from the rear of my S, I've found that one of the rear drop link ball joints has decoupled at its ARB end. It appears that they are held together by four rivets which have failed. I had a look at the front drop links too and here a single rivet has failed but the drop link is still holding together. I can't demonstrate any play in the three drop links that are holding up, but I think I'll replace all four anyway.
I've searched the forum and found a host of links including a few that people have found to be poor quality. There seem to be a few recommendations for those sold through eBay by Langdon 4x4 but the recommendations are all from at least a year ago. Do these recommendations still stand? My suspension is OEM and I'm not planning to use my S on the track as I've other toys that already bankrupt me! Cheers. http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...psvhpzbbsm.jpg http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...pslyyixje4.jpg http://i886.photobucket.com/albums/a...psz2shcut2.jpg |
First Line

As above, first line definitely.
However if you find Borg and Beck ones cheaper, go for them as they're from first line anyway! |
You have a PM.

Thanks for the replies chaps. Problem solved thanks to MI5

Any chance you could let us in on the secret MI5 - I discovered t'other week that I have three that need replacing...

If you search for langdon4x4 on ebay his ones for the front are cheap and seem to hold up pretty well so far.
edit: didn't notice the existing recommendation in the OP. |
I just bought some proper cheap ones off ebay - going to see how they hold up!
