I was just wondering which brand / type of petrol is best for the S2000 ?
I use Fina Premium Unleaded because I collect the points.
Are the supermarket fuels any good ?
I am sure that buying petrol is like most things in life, there is good and the not so good.

Any thoughts ???

Yep, I think the higher the octane rating the better for the engine.

Could you guys give us some opinions about which petrol brand is best (BP, Shell etc). I assume that you are all using super unleaded.

Thanks

I use Shell super unleaded....seems to work fine for me but Im open to comments about other fuels.
As they all must comply to British / European Standards, they are probably all fairly equal.
At the end of the day you get what you pay for.

When I get my new one I will probably continue to use unleaded unless I see a real difference in performance.

I won't harm the engine and I won't be that much slower. I may get the ocassional kangaroo in 2nd but it's good for the back!

Simon

Did you only use unleaded in you other car?? Are there any other problems apart from a slight lack of power, and how much power do you think you lost??

Thanks

We used to have 98 but it seems that all Super Unleaded is now rated at 97 - certainly in all the garages I have visited since buying my car.

We're planning on a driving holiday down through France to Spain, so if the Super Unleaded in France is a higher octane rating than the UK it'll be interesting to see if I notice any difference in performance.

I've noticed that BP are having 97 octane super unleaded. Has anybody found 98 at any brand?
