I like the ones where some old bloke/dear staggers across the forecourt come asks you how much you want. I believe these petrol stations still take pound notes

I've found this in the past. I just used a different petrol station, and the problem went away.

try using the diesel pump.

10 gallons in 3 seconds.

Upside down does the trick for me everytime. And you get less petrol left in the nozzle when you pull it out..
