I remember as a kid smearing petrol on my arm and lighting it. Which was fine as long as you put it out before the vapour burned off. Life was so simple back then

Without being rude you perhaps need to do a little more research on the subject.


Whilst you may be correct in that it is the vapours that ignite that is at ambient temperatures, as you increase the temperature you increase the rate at which it evaporates increasing the risk of combustion.

Also you don't need a spark or flame to ignite, you just need a heat source of a greater temperature than the ignition point of the fuel.

How much is the replacement pipe going to cost. I bet it wont be cheap!

Correct. it's crimped at the other end as well. It is something i'm looking forward to changing in time.
