I keep looking at the Karcher jobs in B&Q. I figure I can justify buying one for the reasons outlined - drives, garden furniture etc. and use it to blast the crap out of the wheel arches and off the alloys. Should be good during winter to loosen all the salt etc. off the underside of the car too.

I will have to work on the missus to get me one as an aniversary present to make up for her ram-raiding.

Yep, go for it Red - she should be feeling pretty contrite just at the moment. Of all the toys i have aquired over the years, the powerwasher is one of the best (not quite up there with the S2000!) - it is very rare for a week to go by without it being used. As you say, with the salty season soon to be upon us, it is an absolute must.

B & Q occasionally have offers with power washers ("the brands with no name" etc).

They are usually not quite as powerful as Karcher (helpful?), but I know of a gardener who uses one on paths and swears by it.

Only cost about
