Pre-Facelift Alloys vs Facelift for Track Work
Guys
Recently picked up a 2003 AP1 that I intend to use 50% for track days, but also want to keep it legal for those days when the sun occasionally pops out. I've never really liked the look of the pre-facelift wheels and was contemplating swapping them for the Facelift type. Bearing in mind the track usage, would there be any negatives to swapping to the larger Facelift wheels in terms of linear grip, lack of flex in the side wall , track tyre availability, etc.
Thoughts appreciated...
Cheers
Chris

I did this.17s give you better choice of tyres and I went with wider rubber too..there's less wall than 16s as you allude so for me the car gave more feedback and better feel
I wouldn't go bigger than 17 though
I don't think it affected outright grip but I went for different tyres so impossible to say
