Problems with car bought from a garage
2 weeks ago I picked an S2000 from an independent dealer/garage, everything was fine & dandy until the other day I noticed 2 inches of water in the boot.
Its coming in from what looks like a badly repaired seam in the in the boot area.
On closer inspections its obvious that there has been some repair on the right rear wing.
Of course none of this was pointed out before I bought the car. They said they would fix the leak but am not sure to what standard. Is it in my right to ask for it to be re-done professionally by a bodyshop or even get my money back on the car.
Its a shame because the rest of the car is spot on.

I have returned a car to a main dealer.. after I discovered some repair which they didn't disclose during the purchase process.. however in that instance.. I did ask them beforehand and they couldn't deny knowledge as they had actually done the repair themselves..
in this instance looks like the repair isn't fresh.. so probably buyer beware situation?

Depends on the terms of the purchase - if you asked if it had been in an accident and were told no, or if the car was represented as not having had any major repairs, then you would have a case.
If not, then doubtful unless a sympathetic dealer.

what year is the car on?
how many owners, may be possible to track history.
I would definatly concerned about the car
and the shoddy repair.
If the rear quarter has been repaired, it would be interesting to the extent of the damage from the original incident, there could be suspension damage.
I'd advise a profesional inspection/proffesional witness like H Rook,
They will give all aspects of advice,
Ive used them befor and they will travel. They will give you a full written report and there recomendations.

You have bought a second hand car on which you had an HPI check. This presumably did not suggest the car was ever in a big accident.
You don't seem to have asked if the car had ever "had paint" as they say in the trade when you bought it.
You seem to have some sort of warrentee from the supplying garage.
I think in the first instance you need to ask the supplying garage to fix the problem if the above assumptions are true.
If they can't fix it then you need to explore other options. If you have no confidence in the supplying garage the go the bodyshop route and spend the
