The pursuit for more noise
Yes that old chestnut again!
I had a little 'tinker' with the airbox last night after following a few old threads about DIY mods to get more noise. The one I tried was to tape up the rectangular hole to the resonator box and leaving a couple of the airbox clips inside to lift the lid a little.
The result?...err, certainly not anywhere near the lovely growl of taking the whole lid off but my concern is whether there is any potential problem waiting to happen by covering over the resonator hole? What exactly does it do? Does it just tune the stock noise?
Anyone shed some light?

I don't think you can do any harm by blocking the hole... air gets into the filter either way.
FWIW I think you are way better off saving some pennies and buying a K and N induction kit.

I've always wondered why induction kits cost so much from K&N. You can buy a universal cone filter from argos these days for 2p, now i know thats not the same but you would think a company would strike the middle ground and offer something at a reasonable price!
K&N seems to have everyone over a barrel to me.

[QUOTE=jgsquash,Aug 30 2007, 12:05 PM] I'm thinking of buying one of these, but they don't seem easy to find.
