Default QUESTION - Bridgestone RE050 rim

Hi

just bought my '09 S2000. I've noticed that the tyre side wall on the rear Bridgestone RE050's only sits in line with the wheel rim, meaning there is no rim protection at all! I've never had a wheel/ tyre combo where this has been the case. Is this normal or has someone fitted the 'wrong' tyre model?

They are the correct size (245/40/17)

I would appreciate confirmation from someone so I know this is the norm

thanks guys

Tom

RE050 is correct. The S specific tyre has the extra letters 'MZ' applied to it.
