Radio transplant complete, but..........
After many, many frustrating weeks waiting for Alpine UK to re-stock with the KCE-865C (interface unit which, allegedly, permits the installation of one of their head units, whilst retaining full on-dash audio control functionality in the s2k) I finally had the equipment installed yesterday.
The improvement in sound is marked (I have installed a 7873R - one of Alpines new 4x60w CD/tuner units, with Diamond audio 361i's replacing stock door speakers - 4" Polk components to be mounted in panels behind seats this week-end) - but........why is there always a but?????...........when I switch one my side- (or head-) lights, the head unit 'mutes'.
Shaner, on the Electronics forum, noted a similar problem. Has anyone else fitted the Alpine KCE-865C interface, and if so - have you encountered any problems - I wonder if there is a fundamental problem with the interface (possibly restricted to certain Alpine head units???)
Let me know your experiences (good or bad)
Thanks
Ian
