Radio volume down control stopped working after clutch change
So I just had a new clutch fitted, everything fine there (apart from by depleated bank account) but when I put the radio on, I couldn't turn the volume down on the contorls near the steering wheel. Volume up works, mute, next etc all work fine, I just can't turn the volume down (using the knob on the radio itself works fine). Also randomly the clock was wrong as well.
The garage will have taken the gear leaver out and the centre facia to access areas for the clutch change so I wonder if something has been knocked or perhaps if they had to disconnect some of the electronics which has knackered something. I could take it back in to the garage but that will mean me being without a car for work so keen to just fix it myself if anyone has any ideas?
Thanks

Morning,
I have done three clutches myself and have never had any problems as per yours. Am wondering if when you say the garage removed the centre console, did they remove the whole of the centre unit in which case the radio would have come out too ?
Of course tis only the black plastic piece of the centre unit that needs to be removed.
Good luck !

Factory radio or not?
If Aftermarket, remove stereo and unplug the adaptor harness completely and leave it 5 mins for the harness box to discharge. Plug it all back in again ans 99% of the time this solves the problem.

It's an aftermarket but had it wired up to the steering wheel controls. I've been away this weekend so I'll just try as you say unplugging it for 5 mins or so and go from there
