Default rattle at low revs, garage near Sheffield?

now I have the hardtop off I've noticed a bit of a rattle at low revs, only seems to do it when setting off in first and when in second at low revs.
It sounds Like it's coming from under the car but could be in the engine bay.

I'm thinking it could be a loose exhaust bracket or something on the cat/heat shield. But have read a lot about the tct making noise how can I tell which it is? I haven't got any way of raising the car so it's a bit awkward to get underneath.

Can anyone recommend a good garage to take the s2000 too in or around Sheffield add I want to get the brakes checked as well?

Thanks

Check the heatshield around the CAT. I had a missing bolt in mine which caused a similar rattle. New bolt fitted and no more rattle!

I can't recommend a garage in your area unfortunately. But as soon as you get it up on a ramp if it is the CAT it will be a 2 min fix. Hopefully it is, new bolt in and no more rattle!

open the bonnet and listen to the front of engine for tct chattering, rev up little bit and see if it lessens .
Thought it was a heat sheild on mine but was tct

Check your messages. I send you one ages ago when you asked about servicing.

Does the rattle only start once the engine is warm? If so, more likely to be the TCT

Thanks for the replies, will check my messages now.

After a bit more investigation the rattle only happens at around 1000 rpm, and it does it from cold, does this rule out the tct?

Had this a while ago, turned out the cat had broken up inside. Rattled at around 2.5-3k though

Wouldn't be the TCT in that case, you only really hear this if engine is warm and idle.

My heat-shield was rattling at exactly 3.8k rpm, in 2nd gear and only when engine breaking. Sounded more like a duck quacking, the joy of random rattles.

There were three bolts missing on the heat shield, been replaced and the rattle has gone

Thanks to the member who recommended a garage on here
