Give it a couple of hundred miles before you make any judgements on the tyres. The S02s always seemed to start working quickly; my experience of the RE range is that they're terrible for a week or so (but I've never had RE050s).

The RE050As do look naff.

New S-02s feel very floaty for a day or two, too.

I'd have thought with a 225mm rear tread, twitchier is gonna be the order of the day.

I think there's a light coating on new tyres, a few miles wears this off and then you get to the tyre proper. As above, give it a hundred miles or so.

Why aren't they 245's on the rear?

All post 04 S2000's have 245 RE050's.

shepp, have you still got S02's on the front? any problems with having different rears as my rears need replacing now but I still have loads of tread left in my front S02s!

The tread pattern on the RE050A certainly looks less directional than that on the S02 but you don't want to put them the wrong way round

As have my RE050A's.

Also, the OP has a MY02. That's why it's 225 and not 245.
