Rear arch rust repair - Essex area

Hi all,

I know the dreaded arch rust topic has been covered several times. I’m just wondering if anyone can recommend somewhere in Essex or near to, that can cut out rust and repair the arch. My drivers side has come up quite bad, passenger side is fine, tiny little bit of rust from a stone chip - but main thing is sorting the drivers side.

Been to two two places so far who quoted me £1250 and £2k to sort it out, my car isn’t a show car and I can’t justify paying out that much right now.

Totally appreciate you get what you pay for, but the main thing is eliminating the rust and I would potentially look at a full respray in the future.

Anyone had any experience doing this near the Essex area? If so, how much did it cost you?

Thanks in adavance!

These guys have always done a great job on various cars I’ve owned. They are doing my one rusty arch later this year, we’ve not discussed cost yet but they are normally very competitive.

Depends where in Essex but if you fancy coming across the border into Herts, Finishline near Stevenage will do a great job for you but no idea on price

Thanks for the replies, will check out J&M rice repairs today as I live in Chelmsford. I’ve emailed the company in Stevenage too.

Anywhere else worth checking?

Thanks for the replies, that looks awesome Scott, thank you.

I'm provisionally going to go to J&M Rice in Chelmsford after visiting today, the guy seemed to know what he was talking about and advised me to come back in the spring as it will be the best time to do it - I thought this was positive as at least he wasn't just trying to take on business and earn some money.

Rice did work on my CRX years ago. excellent work that was when dad was the main man, some time ago taken over by junior who again does excellent work. Very reasonable cost.
