Thanks jrm....

sorry Tonky, I must have explained it wrong, but i was told it was another guest which took down the plate and not the driver himself. So this means the driver didnt stop at all..... which makes it an offence.

Unfortuneatly I dont have a name for this guest. But by all accounts, the guy just took off....

I just want to get my car back to normal, im not worried about prosecuting........ (at the moment)
Jonathan,

I really have to admire your restraint... I'm afraid I would have come over all latin temperament by now! I have my fingers crossed all this works out well and you get the car repaired under this other guys policy (or generous cash settlement). I think Cedric hit the nail on the head, my guess if the other party was probably at least half cut and didn't much fancy making any explanations.

Again, hope all turns out well and your baby is back in pristine condition soon.

Amen.

If he is a regular piss head who drives, there are ways to ensure he gets stopped by the police the next time he drinks and drives
Would break my heart to see such a pillar of the community get busted

Thankfully you are considered a social outcast in the UK if you drink and drive.
Not many people will tolerate it.

I know, it was frowned upon even before I left, which was about 8 years ago....

It is pretty much an accepted thing in the expat community here. I am looked on as being strange because I won't drink any alcohol at all if I am driving.....
