Rear Drain Blocked

Splish splash behind the seat there's a bath!!

Hi all, recently after heavy downpours and car washes what i believe is a catch tank where the roof drains the water away is filling up and not draining. Well, it does slightly but not quick enough between downpours.

I've read pretty much every thread on this forum about it but usually the crucial pic i need now has a dead link or the thread ends without solution.

Not sure if this image will work but basically roof down, its to wing side of the brushes, im sure theres a drain hole in that catch tank but A) i cant find it, B) access is poor and C) im not sure you can remove the brushes to get better access. Ive stuck a coat hanger up the jacking point drain hole, not sure what good that has done, none it would seem, but i can keep hoovering the water out, summer season weather isn't here yet so its only gonna keep happening.

I do have a hard top, but then it blew over in a big storm the other night and has a huge dent in now :banghead:

Thanks in advance.

Pour v.hot water down the roof...it desolves any mud and muck

It's there...actually easier to unblock from below - see the boot leak thread for more info.

you can try using some Small wire brush and find the drain plug behind the rear wheels and try unblocking them etc.

Sorry didn't see that you tried that already.

I believe he was on about the jacking point holes in the cills...different to the hood drains.

i'll have a go with some hot water tomorrow. Failing that get the wheel off and have a look at that exit in the arch. Where about is the hole in that catch tank, front centre or back?

I unblocked mine with an air line, saved a lot of time and effort :banghead:

How did you do that?

I hope by car washes you mean you washing the car, not those evil spinning paint destroyers. I use a pressure washer in the grove between the roof and the trim to flush the muck out, I wouldn't mind blasting it from below if some kind person would post up a picture of the exit hole.
