Default Rear Screen fold

Hi Guys

Is there a way to stop the rear screen from folding in the middle when you retract the roof. I have to put it down part way then stop get out of the car and push the rear screen down where its folding then retract the roof fully? Or is this a normal thing for a s2 without the glass rear screen.

Cheers

Mine folds – it hasn’t broken yet so I'm not worried about it.
I did see someone at the airfield (sorry, didn’t catch your name) who has a fleecy bolster (like a big sausage) that he put in there so the screen would curve around it rather than crease.

I tend to just jump in, set the heater to gas mark 5 and as I start to go a nice golden brown colour and my skin crisps, I know the rear screen is now warm and flexible enough to retract the roof. Its all in the preperation. Plus when you do then get the roof down, you appreciate it even more as it will by this time have reached about 300 Degrees in the cab.

That was me.

What I have is the Muz 'sausage', a quick search of Muz's web site should show you what it is.

I'm fairly certain you could DIY your own version fairly simply.

In fact, here it is http://www.prestigeautoaccessories.com/sto...c1d7e49303178c3

I've got some pipe padding (cant remember proper name) which i use, cut to length of the rear window

Only problem is its rubbish if you need to put roof up in a hurry as need to catch it before it flys off

Look for a swimming float, they make long swimming floats that have a 4-6" round section, a length of that would also work.

Or you could get a giant salami.
It would stop the window creasing and provide a delicious snack for when you're stuck in traffic.

My granny used to have draft excluders shaped like very long sausage dogs. Probably sewn together from a pair of Grandad's corduroy trousers.

I had the same problem, and I used to drop the roof half way, get out, make sure it bends correctly, and then fold it down completely.

My solution was an expensive one - change in for a roof with a glass screen.

Problem solved !!
