jml : Your comments regarding replacing the rears as a set was spot on but I don't see replacing the front two as important as getting the car into a state where it can be driven comfortably.
Think safety not comfort....
Old chocks on the front (1999 ? ) and new ones on the rear is a recipe for disaster. An S isn't your average chopping trolley..weight transfers will do you in.
Don't want to sound condescending but as my father used to say 'don't buy a 2nd hand car that you cannot afford to buy new'

jml :
Appreciate your comments again and safety is paramount, you're 100% right.
I'm afraid you're making assumptions on the latter part.

The fact that I'm not keen on spending

As i have no idea about your financial means it wasn't meant in a personal way
Sports cars tend to be more expensive to maintain. Just ask around what a Porsche shock would have cost you..
No problem - great thing the internet and forums but there's no way of knowing how things were intended.

Good price on the ebay listing though - more than happy to buy a full setup at that price.

Cheers!!

I would avoid the Koni Yellows.

They are a bit crude.
