Well, my rear speakers arrived from Lucid yesterday and I couldnt wait to get them installed so after starting at 19:15 I was finished by 20:00 - and this was working in the dark (wearing headtorch!).

The delivery box was rather small but opening it I found an extremely neat package containing the two panels, with Kenwood speakers fitted, high quality colour printed instructions, adaptor harness and, as a bonus, a set of S2000 International decals!!!

The install was easy and I went out for a drive straight away with the roof down trying different speeds, volumes etc and was extremely pleased. Audio is now audible at ALL speeds (OK, I didnt reach the max speed but I went quite high)!!!

Just before reaching home I thought I'd better give it a go with the roof up and the sound is amazing - excellent quality and improves my enjoyment of the S2000 even more.

Many, many, thanks to Lucid for a great idea and for supplying the panels in a timely and efficient manner.

If you do one mod to your S2000 this has to be it.

Any questions, I will be happy to answer in this thread or by PM.

By the way, this is using the stock UK head unit (which Lucid now supports fully), mute works for all speakers. Power output is more than adequate. I have the stock CD autochanger. Front speakers are also Kenwoods.

So I guess its fair to say you are another happy customer

Is lucid's harness a plug and play interface between the loom and the headunit?

I really need to check out how these sound, its a shame neither yourself or IanL are heading to the mini-meet on Sunday

Glad your happy, lucid has taken a bit of (IMO unwarranted) flak recently, I hope he perseveres to keep providing these ready made solutions.

Hi Tyringe

I am pleased the passing of money for second-hand car radio's in dark pub car parks has worked out OK for you.

As Tif mentioned, Lucid is taking some flack on the Electronics board - if you are genuinely pleased with the rear speakers (it does rather sound like you are) you might like to pop over there and add a little support to Lucid's case!

I am going to try to make it to the meet this week-end, but all sorts of stuff is flying about so I cant make any promises - I assumed there would be room for another if I am able to get there.

Lucids harness is indeed plug and play - just fits between the car harness and the radio and has connections for rear speakers - couldn't be easier!

IMO this is the best solution to S2000 audio. It is cheap, sounds great, and doesn't require any major work or parts.

I have seen those other threads and will head over there now.

I will try and make it on Sunday but cant promise.

Jonathan - Lucid sent me new panels with speakers. Im dont think it would be cost effective to send your panels to the US for them to be returned.

Lucid & I did a deal because he needed a UK head unit to test with his harness.

PM him and Im sure he will give you a price - he can supply anything you want - head unit, panels, speakers etc, etc.
