Rear wheel arch edge trim
#12
I did mull whether it might be possible to fit 'fuller' rubber liners (like those on the Toyobaru Hachiroku) that prevent the crud building up on the inner ledge. But then I fell asleep.

Has anyone tried using rubber channel seals from Baines?

There's a huge range of different products.

They are based in Kent, maybe someone needs to go down there with s sample for them to match.

The problem is the size required: 20mm.
I got a meter length of Combined Jumbo Door seal Black for under a fiver delivered. If you nick the O section it rips neatly off with a firm steady pull and it fits well. You can pare another couple of mm along the inside edge if you want to replicate the original part and make the visible trim a fraction wider. (Of course, none of the modified trim is visible.) I undercoated the edge before i fitted the trim and i think it looks pretty neat and authentic.
Just hope it stays put :-)

.... funny this thread , as other threads that are similar seem to say just take them off ! I did with mine . I cleaned the arches right out , rubbed them down , masked a line on the inner lip( where the rubber coverers ) and used under seal on the lip and all the inner arch as well . Looks neat and tidy and is well protected
