Default Removing The Stock ECU

Can anyone tell me the name or size of the tool required for removing the ECU fixing bolts please ?

Or is there any standard sort of tool that fits. I don't reall want to rive the corners off with mole grips though.

Might be one for Honda as they are security bolts.

You could treat them as sacraficial and then replace with standard ones.

Mine didn't have them on there so it was quite easy.

There was a thread on this recently...

I got my dealer to remove the bolts when the car was in for a service.

Thanks chaps, I may have a socket that I used to use for opening electrical enclosures when I was on the tools that may fit.

I'll have a dig around at home. If not I'll try an adapt a socket or as Stephen said get the dealer to slacken them off for me and then change them for 8mm Hex heads

Cheers Andy

I got my dealer to swap them out as I couldn't fine anything close and you cant get anything like mole grips in there.

Yeah, they didn't want to do mine either, they said that if the car was stolen then they might pinch the ECU. Not sure why I would care if the car has been nicked!
