Replacement brake light switch
 

Hi Guys
Does anyone happen to know the Honda part number (and approximate price) for a 2004 model brake light switch please?
I've had an advisory on the MOT that it's intermittent, so rather than messing about taking it apart, I'd rather just replace it.
Better still, does anyone know of any aftermarket ones, as I don't think it's necessary to pay Honda's fancy prices for something so simple?
Must admit I've Googled it, but haven't managed to find any anywhere in this country!

Must admit I do find it incredible that there don't seem to be any aftermarket switches available for a car that was manufactured for about 12 years - just can't seem to find any.
It's not like we're talking about a 40-year old car of which hardly any were sold!

Unfortunately it's like an experience a friend of mine had, he bought a cheep Lambo that needed a new clutch, that cost him £2500 plus. You have to accept that if there aren't after market parts available you will be buying new parts for a prestige sports car, and those new parts don't come at second hand prices. That's life. you might find with a bit of research another Honda (or other Jap car) with the same part at a better price, but that takes time.

Yeah, you're right - s'pose it's just the fact that it's a sports car.
I'm sure there are others that would fit and work (after all, it is just a switch), but not worth wasting time on the research.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for buying genuine on parts that are vital to the running of the car and would never scrimp on engine parts, for example.

Cheers for the compliment, but that pic was taken way back in 2004, just after taking delivery of it from new.
14 years on and one divorce later I still own the car, although aside from a few stone chips on the front bumper and bonnet, it's not far from that photo condition-wise (and only 30K miles).
I doubt there are many on here now who remember Megameet 2004 :)

Thanks, Nick, but I don't trust that part number (36750SEA003).
There are many listings on Ebay showing that part number, but when you enter the vehicle it shows as not compatible.
I've also found many other sites selling that part number and some seem to suggest it is the correct one, others not.
Also, the photo of the connector layout is not right, so went for the genuine part from Lings in the end (best to play safe).

You're right - it's four-pin not two-pin.
