Replacement Stereo - pic request
hi all,
I have recently bought a new JVC KD-X250BT stereo along with the 'required' connectors/harnesses suggested by Caraudiodirect to replace the standard Honda unit. The problem I am having is that nothing fits the harness that is already in my car. Does anyone have a pic of their standard harness that may help to confirm that mine is definately the standard one? Don't know how to clag a pic on here but my standard harness is a blue 20 connector one.
The harness Caraudiodirect told me I needed are a Connects2 CTSHO001.2 stalk adaptor and the Connects" JVC stalk adaptor (god knows what you do with this tho, it has a 3.5mm jack connector on and the stereo only has a jack connector for the mic.
Cheers for any help you can give.

The same worked for me,
The stereo loom has a single "remote" wire this connects to the lead marked "to stereo remote"
this is a good link for the autoleads stuff - http://www.nexxia.co.uk/PDF_Files/PC99-JVC.pdf
It may help...

Cheers for the info. I have been trying to sort it out with Caraudiodirect for 2 days now and it seems that this afternoon they have found what the problem is. They sent the leads for the pre-face lift car they think. They are now gonna send me the Autoleads connectors I think. Fingers crossed this works as we are going to the South of France I a few months and don't want to take millions of CD's

now all sorted pretty much cheers. I have connected mine up the same way as in your pic, however, every time I start the car the stereo powers up. Does yours do this? I have also managed to flatten my battery as when I was messing with it and changing the sound settings etc, I was listening to the iPod via the USB. Now got to call out the AA this morning - first time I've had to call them out since 1999!
Oh the shame.

If I shut off the car with stereo powered up it will power up again when I start the car, if it is off then it stays off.
Did you connect the thick red and yellow wires the same as in my pic?

Hi, it's working fine now! For some reason having a new battery fitted this morning appears to have solved it
Cheers for your help

Just ordered the same stereo :]
Anyone got a good guide for removing the existing unit/installing? I did it on a pre-facelift but I think there may be more to remove on a facelift?
