Poor bloody quality control more like, we work down to the micron at our place, they'd have kittens at 185 microns hehe

Stretched a bit then mate!

I've spent many hours driving in close proximity with Simon in this car and am really pleased you're saving it. Whilst it's just metal and plastic, it is a legend! Good luck with it all, i think I have some bits and bobs left from my broken engine and will happily donate them if you need any.

I hate seeing cars pensioned off so decided to see how far i could go on a budget rebuild keeping the car standard with a view to sprinting it in the standard road class,

i have two more engines to strip yet that are in various stages of self destruct so should know by next weekend if i have enough good parts to make one good one.

Stripped Notts old engine to see if anything is salvageable,

Cylinder block,,,,Nope

Cylinder head,,,,Nope

Pistons,,,,er Nope

Crank,,,Yeah

So we now have a block a crank and three (B) pistons, next strip the other two engines and see what can be salvaged hopefully one off them will have a good (B) piston then will have to pick the best four con rods i will then be able to size and order the new big end and main bearings, the block crank and rod ends are stamped with numbers so you take the main stamp and the block stamp to find the bearing required these are marked with colours on the sides which can be different for each journal.

Engine bits everywhere

Be great to see a rebuild of an s2k engine so im looking forward to the updates.

Any pictures of the oil pump from LGs engine? I've heard the pumps are tough but would be interesting to see the internals are within tolerance

Haven't stripped LGs yet or Graeme's engine which had done 200k and was removed because of snatched bores
