Default Are reversing sensors fitted to S2000's.

Purchased my first S2000 recently and I am having trouble with a reversing sensor that was already on the car. I don't know if they are standard kit?
When reversing it makes a continuous sound (no beeping) which drives me mad. However I cannot find it on the bumper or around the number plate.
Any ideas on how to sort this out?

Definitely aftermarket, no S2000 were manufacturered with them.
Probably some kind of ultrasonic device behind the bumper.

My advice is to get rid of it not needed.

Welcome by the way

No, not standard.

Roof down reversing's easy, roof up it's not the easiest car to reverse although the wing mirrors are pretty good.

In short, no sensor - try looking out of the windows.

Mine had reversing sensors when i first brought it, They were going off constantly and i brought a new kit to replace the old one. Got some spray paint to colour match the new sensors to the bumper and job done.

You could just disconnect the kit and leave the colour coded sensors in. If you can find the kit and where its installed (will be near the reversing light as thats where it gets it supply from) you could possibly get replacement parts.

Not standard but the kit fitted by the previous owner is bloody brilliant, I'd be lost without the sensors because with the roof up you can't see the back of the car.

If you need these you need a white stick, ergo you don't need an S2000. If you don't know where you are in either direction you shouldn't be driving anything but a Seat. Just like a new Ford with a green arrow to tell you when you have to change up gear, pointless unless you never learnt to drive.

Just to comment: these devices were comparatively rare when the S first came out. I don't see why we shouldn't retro fit useful discrete technology upgrades. Same with the (was always inadequate) ICE and we are now in a world where Iphone/Bluetooth/hands-free is the norm. The S ever will be a brilliant design and just before FREDs got everywhere. Reversing sensors I see as a BUMFUC (bloody useful mechanism for us codgers)

Thought the roof down was standard.........

Only put the roof up when I'm parked up...
