Road Trip
This afternoon we take the S on her first visit to The Lakes (quite excited!)
Over the past couple of months a few people have mentioned roads that are a must but they are on various threads, so I was wondering if you could list them below and then I'll get on my merry way
Cheers

I love driving in the Lake District.
Unfortunately I don't know any of the road names and never have a set route. I just take whichever direction looks the most favourable and see where I end up.
I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Head to western Lakes, this is a much quieter part of the Lakes.
From the M6 take the A590 towards Newby Bridge, then Greenodd.
At Greenodd turn right onto the A595 and take this to Whicham; cracking road. You can park at the beach at Silecroft (did a Blurter Meet here a couple of years back).
Then take the A595 to Muncaster Castle. At Ravenglass you can take the little train to Eskdale which is good fun.

We did the train at Ravenglass before - it's excellent - that's when we went over Hard Knot Pass in our old Golf - cacked my pants when I saw a Mondeo on it's side in a gully!

Just been for a spin across Kirkstone Pass and back. Then down "The Struggle" to Ambleside. Through Ambleside and on to Keswick then back home again.
Shame about the pissy weather.
Hope you're having a nice time despite this. I was keeping an eye out for you but only spotted a Silverstone and a Berlina. No Nurbys.
EDIT: Actually, was it just Yesterday afternoon you were there? I was assuming it was the whole weekend.

We went UP 'The Struggle' today and I smelt burning clutch - Mr CJ wasn't too happy as he was driving. Everything seems to be okay with the car though.
Excellent road and well recommended - unfortunately it wasn't top down weather today.
Went to Grizedale Forest yesterday and another couple of hair-raising moments on some blind bends.
Must find a new B&B - Mr CJ nearly ripped the front off the car coming out of the steep driveway. Had to go back up and reverse out - missing some paint on the front but nothing major.
