There are several destroyed engines from sanded covers just on this forum!
Yes - I think we all know what can happen. Too many painful stories from previous owners.
That's why this thread was "who do you recommend" so I can get it done properly.

Spooner look awesome - there is a forum member - rd55 aka Ross, who does a great job with refurbing rocker covers and can* do it on an exchange basis.

Thanks. I think that's the shortcut I have in my first post. I was hoping someone would recommend him...

UPDATE: Spooner Restorations don't have any Pre-Facelift rocker covers. I have asked him to shout if he gets one...
But in the meantime - does anyone know anyone else?

Hi, Ross did my cover in wrinkle red about 2 months ago, I can vouch for him and recommend him. He's prompt and has kept me up to date with progress every step of the way.

There are several destroyed engines from sanded covers just on this forum!

I have refurbished several covers myself and always use paint stripper and then just wire brush!

This is vht wrinkle blue i did few months ago... it cost me 25 dollars for can of VHT blue and one afternoon!
Nice. I agree get yourself some sand paper, brush, nitromos, degreaser/cleaner and vht red wrinkle spray. Total cost about £15-20. Do it yourself and put in your home oven.

Novice question but if you don't put it in the oven won't the heat from driving it cure the paint?
