Roof replacement
Hi all.
Just joined the site and wanted to say hello.
Only recently got hold of a S2k and this seems to be the place to get all the info
I've had a read thru previous posts and the FAQ section and found plenty about soft top replacement of the material itself but not the complete roof.
I have a 2001 Ap1 with a worn hood and a cracked plastic screen. I understand I can fit a hood from an Ap2 with a glass screen.
So here's the deal... cant I just unbolt the old roof complete with frame and put in the new frame??? Seems simple enough!
Any help much appreciated, Cheers

Sadly it's not quite as simple as that. Take a look at this thread, it should tell you everything you need to know https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.ph...pic=437532&hl=

Hello and welcome to the forum.
Im surprised noone has mentioned that all S2000's in UK are AP1's.
Regardless, I replaced my plastic windowed roof for a 2008 model, its no easy task.
Make sure you do your homework, and be ready to spend a good 6 - 8 hours.
You will also need a helping hand some stages.
If you are around London, i might be able to lend a hand at some stage.

You CAN replace the whole lot, but for the bits that need to come out, it's not a great deal easier than replacing the fabric.
Just remember, if you're replacing the fabric only, then you'll need an UPGRADE roof, not a facelift OEM one.
