Roof replacement in Hertfordshire.
Added a fantastic new modification to my S this morning. Black tape across the Rear plastic window! It split on lowering
Think I'll upgrade to a glass screen, seems the wise thing to do and possibly get it from Hardtopguy.com
Running a search has answered most of my queries. However, how much should I expect to pay for a roof with a glass screen from a breakers?
And can any one recommend some one to fit it in the Herts, Essex, area? I've got the workshop manual at home so will look into doing this myself as well.
Working a 15 hour shift today, guess what I'm going to be spending the money I get from it on

Chris, I work at the dealers in Hemel Hempstead and had to have the rear part of a roof sown in recently where the window had split.
I contacted Malcolm Barton and Sons in Luton, he is a car hood repairer who also works for Insurance companies. I have also used him when I worked in Bodyshops.
I gave his details to AE the other day for inclusion in the recommendations.

How hard did you find installing it and how long did it take you?
Oh, would you do another one :nudge nudge:
Hardtop guys price seems very reasonable but thats without the frame. Does any one know if the MY02+ hood would fit on a MY01 Frame? And how easy that would be to do.
I'll take a look in the workshop manual when I get home but I'd be grateful for any of your opinions on this.
I would not put these screens down to cracking just because its cold. It certainly was not this morning. Some one (I think S2KUK) put some sort of tape either side of the screen to ensure it folded correctly each time, was not exspensive either. What ever it was I SERIOUSLY recommend any one with a plastic screen to get them. Better to get that than face a

FYI. Out of the hoods on ebay mentioned above, only one is an 04 (in blue)
One is a plastic screen jobbie and the other is from an 02 and has a tear on it.
I've been in touch with them.
Cheers
