Default Rusty fuel lines

I have rusty fuel lines that run under the car. I need to change them for some new ones.

Has anyone done this job and can offer any tips or advice?

There seems to be 3 fuel lines, I'm guessing one is the feed, another is the vent and the last is the return pipe? What does the return pipe do?

Has anyone used the quick release connections that are under the car? If so how did they fit when reconnecting them? Any leaks or issues?

Thanks in advance

Feed, vent and return is correct, the return does what it says, returns fuel to the tank
I'm not sure there are quick connections like that under the car? I've disconnected the ones on top of the tank a couple of times without any issues though.

I had mine done 4 years ago and it was a ball ache of a job. Obviously 100% worth it to futureproof the car. I had an issue with Lings as they were unable to post them. Ended up having them delivered to my local Honda garage and collected..

I have replaced fuel lines on my car and yes there is that kind of quick connectors under the car at rear end. They were so corroded and stuck that I destroyed connectors when trying to separate them. I had to replace the lines between fuel pump and hard lines.

Rubbish, that's not good. Did you have to drop the rear subframe to be able to replace he whole lines or could you fish them up there?

Not a big job. No I didn't drop the subframe. If I remember correctly only things I needed to remove was plate on top of fuel pump and the metal plate under the car near the quick connectors.

Ok thanks, that's a relief! Can you remember where you got the hard pipes from that fit on to the fuel tanks, its part number 19-20 on the Lings website?

The quick connections are towards the rear leading up to the fuel tank.

Did you have to access the connections that you disconnected by removing the interior plastic cover that the softtop folds down into?

Yes I removed the big plastic cover and reached down from inside the cabin but it should be possible from the trunk area also.
I pulled my fuel pump out though and I don't think there is enough room to do that with the plastic cover still there.

Yes those parts are correct, but seems to be discounted. Actually they are not hard lines. They are made from nylon fuel hose. I didn't buy oem stuff because they ware crazy expensive ~150€.

I bought aftermarket quick connectors, some rubber fuel hose and hose clamps. There are 3 different sizes of connectors.

(fuel return line) only one is needed

(fuel pump) both are needed

You can acces to fuel pump from trunk, but not really lot of room to work.
