Default rusty grills

Mine are rusty so they need a good paint, anyone recommend one that is good and doesnt peel off? I may do a nice little painting on mine next week rather than just paint it all one colour , I may get a few funny comments but its easily painted over

I have the same issue. Just went to Hellfords and bought some black gloss metal paint (own brand, nothing fancy). Haven't applied it yet however!. Was just going to paint the grilles "in situ" cos I can't be bothered to remove them (complicated install that I don't want to do again!)........hopefully will work!.

Yes I would rather leave them on as its a pain getting them back on again after taking them off. You could do what I did though and ask Honda to put the air con cover back on when they serviced it, they charged me 70 quid as they said they needed to take the bumper off

You need to be carefull when painting on the car .

How to by Mikey K

1) remove them, keep screws, bin tiwraps
2) remove edging trim nand bin that!
3) draw round them on hardboard encase you want to have make some more!
4) sand blast them or give them a good sand with a sander
5) wire brush them to get the small bits out that stick to the edge of the holes
5) use AEROSOL hammerite in a colour of your choice DO NOT us brush on it fills the holes, U get hairs and it looks
6) spray in four perpendicular directions to ensure all the insides of the holes are covered.
7) buy some of this pvc beading from Maplin.com XR78K @ 49p/m
8) glue it to the edge of the grill with super glue if you want (I didn't!)
9) re fit with new tiwraps and existing screws

Should look something like this!

Check my gallery 4 more pics!
I reckon it looks a whole load better and a lot more stock!
I am going to use my templates to cut some woven stainless mesh (like the XKR & MG grilles) as this has slightly larger holes and will not rust! Watch this space!
