I am a definite NO, I went looking for a convertible, and only drove/looked at cars that were convertible. Even though I bought the hard top, for the joyous english winters, I wouldn't trade being able to take off my top.

NO I bought my S2000 BECAUSE it's a roadster. But I also bought the hardtop and I love it. An earlier poster was absolutely correct.. With the hardtop option, you have the best of both.
I left my hardtop on for the Philly drive this past Sunday because several people attending had never seen one "in the flesh". The response was quite favorable from those that saw it. One response kind of says it all... "I never liked white cars, but the white with the hardtop looked great"
I took the top off yesterday to enjoy another 65 degree November day and it's still hanging from the garage ceiling waiting for the really cold weather.
I think having the hardtop prevents the "convertable remorse" experienced by many during the winter months.

Well, it's nice to see a friendlt atmosphere even with such a 'religous' topic.
Personally, I don't find that my hard top turns the car into a coupe. It's a great hardtop, no question, but it isn't the same as a coupe.
Of course, there is another option. Given the design rigidity of the S2000 chassis, a targa could work well. That would blur things more! My dad has restored an old Fiat X1-9 with his brother. Nice handling little car, with a couple of targa panels. Without the soft top you'd have a bit more boot space, and could store the top panels without too much trouble.
Anyway, just food for though. I did just over 300 miles in my S2000 with the hardtop on today. Had some fun with the back on some wet roads , but had enough time on my hands while cruising to think what what changes could be done. And got annoyed at the ECU backing off the power when the car's hot as usual... sigh. That's one thing I can't wait to sort out...
