Default S2000 family tree

From what I found whilst looking yesterday, the Accord TypeR shares what looks like an identical friction disc, pressure plate as well as possibly a throw out bearing. I can't believe that even Honda would have been stupid enough to produce S2000 specific parts if there was no need to and will have engineered components to accept bits and bobs from the other model ranges.

I suspect that Honda raided the parts bin for a number of items and then charge S2000 specific prices. I'm thinking specifically things like wheel bearings, brakes ( i know about these already) and clutches as well as things like suspension bushes and drop links etc.

Does anyone have a full list of exactly what is shared, what the part numbers are and if there is an appreciable price difference? Even things like Xenon ballasts etc etc.

Does anyone have access to the parts lists for cross referencing?

I wouldn't be surprised if there is a great deal. Lean principles and all that.

I do not believe that a throw out bearing is worth, or can cost £150 and nor do I believe that Honda designed one specifically for the S2000.

Do i suspect that it's a generic part that is fitted elsewhere in the range with an S2000 'marque' up? Yes, I do.

VW and AUDI do this all the time and you can't buy some parts in a Skoda / SEAT dealership due to this even though the uprated / better parts will fit.

So an MX5 diff and an S2000 Diff are the same thing - I bet that means an MX5 final drive upgrade will cost less than an S2000 one!
