Default S2000 Speedo not working

Hi All,

Just bought a S2000 2 weeks ago. Today the speedo suddenly not working. The Rev, fuel and temperature stills showing correctly, but the speed is not showing up and stays as "0". The mileage does not add while I was driving. EPS light comes on after about 30 mins of drive.

Any of you experience with this problem and know how to deal with it?

Much Appreciate.

Does your power steering still works? Do you know if the car has Speedometer calibrator installed (like yellowbox)? If so it may be failing. Or maybe your Vehicle Speed Sensor (on side of transmission) is bad/failing.

As I just got this car for a week, I'm not sure if there is a yellow box mod, but I cant see it anywhere in the car or under the bonnet.
The power sterling have not working after 15 mins the speedo dont work. As far as i know, it is normal response when the speedo not working?
I am going to try and disconnect the battery for a while and check with all the fuse now. Hopefully everything will be get back to work.

Just disconnected with the ECU for a while and reconnect it back, checked all wire. The speedo is running up again and EPS light off !
Just need to check it is displaying the right speed now.

I'd bet it's a JDM.

Have a look around the ECU in the passenger footwell for a speed converter. If not there, it'll probably be by the gearbox. The speed sensor signal splits three ways and goes into the ECU, EPS and dash, so it makes perfect sense that a dodgy connection would knock out the speedo and EPS together.

EPS light doesnt come on, but I think if I kept driving it, the light will come back on again as they detect movement but not the speed.

Last time I just disconnect the battery, move around the wire and it works again, but no luck this time.

Any idea it will be the wire or the sensor?

This.

My JDM has had a few problems with the converter and its exactly the same thing.

Speedo stops working (usuaully when in an average speed limit!) then Warning Light comes on.

Turn off and wait 5 mins and it comes back on.

I'm getting mine sorted at the weekend, also confuses the f@#k out of the fuel gauge.
