As per title...given the cost of keys from uk Honda dealers this dosen’t seem like out and out daylight robbery?

Thats the JDM key, my one looks like a child used it as a pacifier. Those ones do not have the transponder for the immobiliser but there is a thread on here about swapping it over from your old key.

I tried a couple of keys from eBay, neither of them could be programed by auto locksmiths or Honda most likely fakes, despite being advertised as with chips. If you want them to be fully functional you will just have to bend over, I think I was quoted around £170 from Honda, with programing.

Same price (only in USD) for the key I got from my local US Honda dealer to replace a lost key. Hard pill to swallow but there seems to be no alternative.

The lil' key fobs with the buttons, though, seem to be available on Ebay and easy to clone.

Thanks chaps, I figured too good to be true...I may go with one of those three button jobbies and continue to use my OE key and alarm fob as my primary key instead

The early cars here have Hamilton Palmer alarms and the fobs are cheap, available direct from them

I guess you could put your old key inside the steering column and get extra keys cut..

Default S2K Key

I bought a blank facelift S2000 key off ebay for about £10 and then had it cut and chipped at my local autosmiths in Bradford for about £70. He re-programs the security system and adds your new key on. He supplied the chip for the key as well.
