Sebring vs, Silverstone Silver
Maybe this is why Honda is not producing Silverstone Silver...

The writing has been on the wall since the early date last year when the rain was so bad the fans could not get in and 30,000 people were turned away. I'm sure this stuck in Bernie's crawl! Having been without an F-1 venue for so long I can appreciate how frustrating this must be. When the calendar only holds 17 events at the most and new tracks are popping up all over the place (like Russia???) then we are bound to see a lot of changing venues in the future. All of this boils to to being bad news!

Follows on from last years fiasco. Apparently the queues were for miles and miles and becuase of the wet weather a lot of cars got stranded on the grassy parking area provided.
They are quite right to ditch Silverstone (the FIA) if they are not able to provide a safe and accessible site for such a superb spectacle.
As for Honda ditching Silverstone, I'm not really sure what the EU/UK take is on that one, I think Silverstone is still the only silver colour offered even in the MY 2002 cars.

I doubt that the FIA will push this through, much as Silverstone has been in the wars over the traffic access I just can't imagine them getting the heave-ho That said, it might give those folks in Westminster the kick up the arse they seem to need to sort out the road links to the circuit....

Maybe it's time the UK upgraded another Venue to handle Grand Prix. I've fond memories of Senna in the wet when the European Grand Prix was held at Donnington.
Something needs to change, F1 is just too expensive to watch here. I loved my free day at Rockingham to watch the CART race. A mate had been to the British GP - he liked the Rockingham day inspite of the cold weather and the track problems. Didn't have as ludicrous prices, nor egos.
It would be a shame to lose the race, but things really do need to change radically no matter what IMHO.

We went in April 2000 when the wet weather turned it into a crazy mud bath.
We were lucky to be guests of corporate hospitality (which was amazing) with reserved parking on concrete.
I pity the poor fans who had to endure ridiculous conditions after paying a lot of hard earned money.
The organisers need to accept the fact that in the 21st century people have the right to demand a better level of service.
