Second car insurance woes

Second car insurance woes
Right, I'm currently insuring my SC'd S2000 through adrian Adrian Flux using my 8 years ncb. A friend of mine is essentially giving away a Saxo VTR which I was going to use as a daily to reduce the amount of miles and therefore petrol costs for my s2k as well as servicing costs. Speaking to Flux, they won't transfer my ncb on 2 policies which results in a quote of nearly 600 quid for the saxo, nearly 200 quid more than I'm paying for my s2k.
Anyone got any ideas on how I can insure the saxo for cheap as a second car? Thanks in advance!

You need to use an insurer which provides multicar. Obviously, this will be trickier with the mods on the S2000 but Admiral may be able to do it. you'd be best off waiting until the current policy runs out, though.

I did exactly what you're hoping for when I was running both the S2000 (daily) and my track 306 Rallye. There was a term for it which I cant for the life of me remember just now, but by putting a pretty low annual mileage on the Rallye (<5000) I was able to use the same no claims bonus on both policies. I don't even think both cars were with the same insurer, but Greenlight were able to insure the Rallye under these conditions..
Ahh I've remembered, it was a "mirrored no claim bonus"

Yep mirrored,
Churchill do that also,
been with them 10+yrs also having home insurance for %10 discount and free breakdown cover
and you can also have a third car 90 days a year max
if not wanting a 12 month separate policy with 0 NCD

Quite a few will mirror it even if you don't have both cars with them. Not all of course.
My argument is always that if I'm out driving one I can't be driving the other, so the ncb should be mine for as many as I want.

I had my NCB mirrored from my civic to my S2000 with Sky. After first year, the paperwork showed 4years NCB (Less than what I had accumulated on the civic, but better than 1).

This isnt exactly related to the thread topic, but a husband and wife can transfer NCB between each other. Starnge but true.
My wife transfered me her 6 years NCB which meant a reduced premium. All you need to do is to get you wife / husband to write a letter to the insurance provider requesting that the NCB is transfered.
