Sellings S2000's & Alternatives...
Really struggling to do it!
I've prepped my s2k for sale, and have for the last month avoided doing anything about it. Anybody else in this predicament? any suggestions? It' doesn't help the sun is now out, the s2k is brilliant, and I've found my dodgy sex tourist sunglasses.
Any advice? What would you replace the s2k with if you wanted a fun car that does +10mpg (35ish) and could carry a mountain bike. Am doing around 12-14k miles a year.
Could also do with a bit of spare cash for the bmw project in my signature! (3.5L turbo death trap)

I'm in the same spot.
Had mine up for sale but withdrew it last week. Just about to change my mind, maybe ??.
The wife has an Abarth 500 which I really like. I could sell my S, and for the very occasional journeys that I make, I could use her's.
Thinking of putting the cash away, getting my bike license and working up to an R6

I debated selling mine some time back but I love her too much at the moment!
The only other car I'm interested in really is a Cayman S or R, but for the amount of time I spend driving I don't see the point in tying up £30k+ in it!

The only car I would sell my S for is a Porsche 968, bloody love them, having said that to get a mint fully sorted one like mine would need about £15k and wouldn't really be any quicker !!

You're in hot hatch territory with those criteria... CTR or ITR if you want to keep enjoying vtec, although that may not fit the 35mpg . Otherwise golf gti, focus st, etc etc

I realised a while ago the only things close (for me) were a TVR T350c, 911 turbo, GT86 and possibly a Z4M + charger
After considering it, I knewTVR would be permanently expensive & unreliable911 would simply be too expensive and I wouldn't have money to modify itGT86 - underpoweredZ4M - just don't get a very good write up
In my mind I also knew that I had ploughed way, way too many emotions into the S2000 and that in another 5 years it will become incredibly rare to own a well modified one. Plus the manual gearbox is phenomenal.
So I bought a Skyline to keep me happy as I wanted something with AWD and that I knew would hack big power figures - whilst keeping the S.

What do you reckon then.. 5k limit, 35mpg, must take a bike rack and be semi-interesting to drive!
If you can live with FWD that's the way to go. And you'll find that they are probably quicker than the S on a track!
The 172 averaged around 38mpg on the commute every day which is stop and start through Milton Keynes and could approach 45+ on long journeys.
