Serpentine belt tensioner chatter
So, while under the bonnet doing various things today I noticed that the serpentine belt tensioner makes a bit of a chattering noise and does seems to flex a bit at idle.
This is not the timing belt tensioner. This is esentially an idler wheel that provides tension to the serpentine/accessory belt and sits at the upper right corner of the belt's path.
Is this a common issue and/or something I need worry about? Please, no speculation, I'd like to hear from folks that have direct knowledge or experience of this issue.
Thanks.

Try removing the serpentine belt and see if the chatter is still there, next step is to get a shorter serpentine belt to disconnect the A/C to see if it is the compressor making the noise.
Failing all that, a new tensioner is around £150 from Honda, or a new bearing can be fitted if you have the skills.
Yes I have had the problem, it wasn't the tensioner but the aircon the first time, the alternator the second time.

I'm pretty sure it's the tensioner that's making the noise. Sine I'm currently under the extended warranty I'll make Honda's grease monkeys do it as I've already been getting greasy every day this week and need to start spending my 'casual' time putting my motorcycle back together

Have u tried spraying wd40 onto the different pulleys? Normally u can isolate the noisy one by doing that.
I pressed a new bearing into the tensioner- cost me £5
Improved the tensioner noise but its still not perfect.

Sorry razzele but I don't recommend spraying WD40 into a bearing as it will dilute the bearing grease (if the bearing seal is broken) which will increase the wear of the bearing considerably
