Default Service costs/location/questions

Hi all ....

wanting to get the S2k serviced and is due on time anyway .

It’s had a full Honda service life and rightly or wrongly I want to keep that up .

I’ve noticed going through the paperwork that it seems to never had the spark plugs changed or the valve clearance checked ..... when are these due ?

The cars done 27500 miles ( 04 plate ) so think of getting the plugs /valves clearance and service done at a local Honda dealership .

What should I be expecting to pay for this ?

Im in Southampton..... could anyone recommend a dealership near by that have a good reputation for the s2000?

Any help much appreciated

Wow. That’s a low mileage car
valves are suggested at 45,000 miles or three years. Spark plugs are 90,000 miles or six years.

You should get the sheet with each service. They should both have been done on a car that age.

double check. Plugs an easy DIY.

The service schedule is in the Tech FAQ here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/uk-irela...6/#post5798519

Booti has seen km, not miles, so spark plugs are, in fact, every 54k miles or every 6 years.

Valve clearances every 27k miles or every 3 years.

Honda do fixed price servicing for cars older than 3 years, and you can find the details here: http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/owners/3-years-plus.html choose a Honda 12 and add in the extras you want according to the schedule.

I guess Hendy in Soton will look after you well. Speak to Si on here: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/uk-irela...thread-852693/

I'd get the valves done, I'm not sure the clearances out of the factory are that spot-on ( https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...ervals-991052/ ) as for plugs there's probably nothing wrong with them but I'd get them done anyway.

Give Hendyperformance a call for prices, I'm sure the new workshop can cope with an S2000 and you'd presumably a Honda stamp in the book with that.

Phoning around and coming in at £170 for the service ( minor) £100 for valve check ..... and £160 for plugs . It’s the plugs I have an issue with , as to do the valves clearance checks most of the work is done and yet they are still charging £90 to do the plugs ( assuming the plugs are around the £20 each )

Honda do tend to charge a lot for the plugs themselves (Cox do them for £67) but you can get them for about £10 each from Opie Oils https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-64114-n...lectrodes.aspx

My dealer has done it in the past (same goes for oil, although they are usually pretty good value on that front).
