Default Shipping new diff from US to UK

As above I want to get a Puddymod diff shipped over to the UK but don't like the $650 shipping fee I've been told it will cost.

Anyone have any experience with getting items back over here, more cost effectively?

Google brings up loads of brokers but I don't know who to use/trust.

I know one person who brought a diff back from the USA in their luggage. Not necessarily cheaper than you've been quoted but you could have a nice holiday as well?

I think the best way would be to find somewhere that does a regular car parts shipping container - obvs you'll have to wait a while to get it though, so time is what you're trading for cost. I brought my 350 small block via this way. I can't find the company I used but they were West Coast-only so you'd probably not want to wait the extra time for the Panama Canal - better to go from Miami if you can. There are places like Auto Shipping Specialist | Kingstown Shipping and http://www.stsimports.co.uk/ that should be able to help you out.

Find a friend, plenty of those website's although none of the correct meaning I'd say lol. If you don't mind me asking what were costs? Here in Ireland you have to trust the rally lads for any work and I haven't been able to get many recommendations...

It may be a 'puddydiff' - in which case, a brief search around the forum will explain.

Bought few times wheels from Canada and USA, cost me 150-250$ shipping every time for the 4 wheels without tyres (via USPS and homemade parcel)

I'm located in France
