I just wanted to share my experiences so far with Skidmarques.

If anyone wants to PM me about places i have previously been and the various issues i have encounter then feel free to.

Dixon used to do all my alignment and to be fair to him he always done a good job and i never had any big issue's. On the odd occasion the steering wheel was slightly off centre but nothing major.

Since the demise of DMS i have tried a few places and always stated i wanted a trackday set up and ended up with less camber and less rear toe then ideally i would want and then had other issue's like the car pulling to oneside etc.

I took it to Skidmarques and Damien made loads of adjustments, pretty much everything apart from the caster. I also had fitted new OEM rear toe arms and i knew they might need abit of time to settle in. Damien set it up according to the measurements DMS used to give me which was -1.3 degree camber up front, and about -2.1 degree on the rears. After a couple of weeks the car seem to want to pull to the left on straight flat roads. I contacted Damien about the issue and that i wanted to get the car on the corner weight scales to check that i had done a reasonable job on the KW Clubsport install.

He managed to fit me in today. Had a top result with the KW's the car was balanced 49.8% corner to corner. All i have done since installing was lower the rears a further 3mm on the perches so that it sat lower. Its not going to get much better than that and i was happy that its still retained the OEM balance. After that he stuck the car on the hunter machine and spotted straight away that some of the rear toe had shift. He adjusted everything back to spec and it was all perfect again. He even clamped the steering wheel in the full ahead position according to how i saw it by my eye. Charged me £30 for the corner weight check and the alignment readjustment were all part and parcel of the deal i got when i first brought the car in.

What i like about Damien is that he is honest, afterwards he said to me that when you do that many adjustments in one go then things will not be spot on and it needs time to settle. I know with some places i have been to it seems that if you bring the car back its something against there workmanship where as Damien just see's it as part and parcel of the job. I had a good chat with him afterwards and he is really passionate about his work. He even said if i had any further problems then to just give him a ring.

I will definitely be using him again in the future

Nice. I'll get mine done after I put the braces on this summer, going to make it a once a year job I think. Had it done last summer and it was a bit off but hadn't been done for years

I like enthusiast techs

I used them about a month ago for my wheel alignment too at skid marks. 89.99 it was. Well worth it. Took 30 mins in there and the receptionist has lovely tits. Lol .
good reception to wait in as well.

Had to pop in recently for an alignment on my wife's 500 Abarth.

They checked the alignment and found a problem with the NS Top Strut Mount. There was no charge for this service despite me offering to pay them. I had TSM replaced elsewhere and the car's been fine since.

The guys there are very considerate towards customers and their cars and seem to genuinely want to do a good job.

Would have no trouble recommending them or using their services; again.

Just Googled these to get their number to book my car in and found this thread but no number! Says on Google "permanently Closed" Anyone know if this is the case and if so, who else in Essex comes recommended?

Thanks
