Default Small(er) Honda Oil Filter

Picked up an oil filter, plugs, pollen filter, tranny oil and engine oil over the weekend to service the car. Honda supplied a small(er) filter than the one I got off them beforehand. Fitted on fine however. Is this a cause for concern?

Part number would be able to confirm if it's the right one. The genuine one is small, I did an oil change last weekend so I'll dig out the receipt from Honda and confirm the part number at lunch

That'll be the generic Honda one for the Jazz and Civic etc. The S2000 has a specific PCX coded one.

It will work. But it isn't the right part.

I would not run that filter in our cars.

Our cars have a specific filter for a reason, the pressure relief valve inside opens at a different pressure and the overall size of our filter allows more flow.

Do not let them try to convince you it is the correct one.

We've just a new guy start in the warehouse, ex Honda partsman, found out I had a S2k and rambled on for a while, I asked what filter he recommended, he thought there was only one for petrol Hondas and took a fair bit of convincing, what fecking chance do the uninformed have when people like this are supplying them?

Reading the OEM oil filter thread made me somewhat confused... What filter should we have?
