Soft top cleaner and waterproofer

I've been using Meguiars soft top cleaner for a while but am not overly impressed by it, although it does seem to control some of the green mould that forms around the base of the hood where it meets the bodywork as it has a built in any mould and mildew ingredient.

Whats your experiences with this and other products. Is there one that stands out above the rest. ?

and same for waterproofing products. the Meguiars doesn't get great reviews online.

I opted for the 303 stuff. Both the vinyl cleaner and the aerospace protectant.

If you use aerospace protectant, I recommend to use very sparingly and layer up if required. One squirt on an applicator pad would probably cover about half of the roof.
I put loads on the first time I used it, when it next rained it ended up all over the car.

Aerospace Protectant

thanks Phil.
I may give the 303 a go. Not too sure about the aerospace protector as it only says vinyl roofs. Mine's mohair.

Get this for mohair.

Clean roof, leave to dry, quick hoover then spray on.
The water just bobbles and blows off when driving

Someone on the FB group once use shoe polish, said it worked a treat - maybe that was just to make it look nice

For the mohair on the MX-5 I just use a normal shampoo and it gets soaked with Gtechniq I1 every 3 years or so - that keeps most stuff off it anyway so it rarely needs cleaning.

Just bought Renovo from Amazon - will be testing that out this weekend - after the meet obviously! ;)
