Have you still got your old pads?
Each pad should have a thin metal shim clipped onto the back of it, there's two on one of the front pads. If they're really cruddy then you might not notice them.
You should be able to unclip them from oem pads and put them on aftermarket pads. I certainly did with my ferrodo pads.
I may be wrong but I think oem pads come with new shims, it's not uncommom for non oem pads to have been installed minus shims.
From what I've read on here the purpose of the shims is to reduce noise, hence my suggestion.

hmm, didnt notice anything that could be removed easily off the OEM pads.
The replacements were identical, so didnt think anything of it.
Im hoping that some heavy braking will solve it, really dont feel like pulling the brakes apart again !
