Standard s2000 dB level?
Ive got a track day coming up I did a noise test eith my maplin dB tester the other day and with the invidia, decat and AEM it went off the scale (i.e. 130dB +)
I am considering either cancelling the track day or putting on my stock exhaust. Does anyone know the noise level of a standard S2000?
Thanks

No idea about the normal (stock) sound level though...

No idea on the standard S limits, but the law states:
3.10. The external noise emitted by passenger cars has been controlled since 1929 when the Motor Cars (Excessive Noise) regulations were enacted. Since 1973 new cars have been required to meet Europe wide noise limits. These have been progressively reduced from 82 decibels (dB) in 1976 to the current limit of 74dB. This means it would take seven new cars to make the same amount of noise as a car that just meets the pre-1976 limits.
I believe the test has to be taken driving past the sensor at 30mph and 10 metres away.

Th track day is at Donnington if that makes any difference. I hear they are particulary anal about this kind of thing. I shall remove the invidia, but not up for removing the AEM CAI and decat.
I have been told I can reduce the noise by putting a little steel wool up the exhuast? Can anyone confirm this? Its alot better than the other idea I was told about involving a baked bean can

From memory, the static noise test at an airfield day I did a few years back had a stock S2000 at 94.5 dB at 3/4s revs, and an HKS equipped one at around 96-96.5 dB.
