Default Stock exhaust tips

Anyone out there ever had to replace a stock exhaust tip due to damage etc?.

When I had my HKS exhaust put on, one of the chrome tips of the stock exhaust got damaged by the garage. They've talked to Honda who have said that they cannot supply a new chrome tip on its own (ie. new exhaust system just for a new tip!!!). This seems crazy to me as I'm pretty sure the chrome tips come off ie. are a standalone part. Anyone out there had a chrome tip replaced (no jokes please!!), either by a Honda dealer or via some other route?.

kev did when he went into a fence, but he replaced them with 04 tips.

IMO i would buy them from hardtopguy in the US - prolly cheaper

http://www.hardtopguy.com

ignore the shipping if it is ludicrous, email jeff@hardtopguy.com

Not too fussed about cost as will make garage pay for it!. Wanted to try and understand if Honda will actually provide replacement tips or not. Failing that, could go via hardtopguy and just cross-charge the garage.

Any Honda experiences???

Are the tips easy to take off?

Mine could do with a polish, and was wondering if I could do it tonight.

That's a pity..I chucked 2 out last weekend. They'd been in the garage since last sumer when I got some 04's.

BTW they are really easy to take off / put on so I reckon you've been fed a load of old Pony about requiring a replacement exhaust.

Breaker is your best bet I suppose...unless 1 of the 'unlucky 4' can help you out.

Graham......sounds like you sourced one from Honda?. If so, sounds like garage is talking rubbish so will follow up with them!

Mine probably won't come off as the screws are extremely rusted. the heads will probably shear off or disintigrate

Just polished mine whilst they are on the car with Auto Glym Metal polish - came up lovely

Is it just the one screw on each pipe?
