If this is what your intention is, then the S2k wins hands down.

The E90 M3 (by comparison) at over 1600kg, is a big old bus. It has a lovely engine and in manual form is great fun, but it is just too big and heavy to throw around and enjoy on track (where the standard brakes scream for mercy after just a few laps). It can be made to cope with track use (APs and KWs), but it is still a big car and needs gutting to get the weight under 1500, which makes it much more dynamic.

The Honda is just more fun from the get-go and you don't need to be going stupid fast to enjoy it, where the BMW cossets you and makes 3 figure speeds seem almost compulsory to "feel" fast, which is a big risk to your licence. However, I too would not want to use the S2000 to commute in, as without the hard top, long journeys can be tiresome due to the high levels of cabin noise, but for those weekend blasts, there is not much that can compete with it IMO.

And in case you think I'm speaking from some sort of Honda bias.....:
