Just let mine warm up and took it for a run. If i rev it to 8k or above and release i get a dump sound but then while the revs lower the flutter starts up at 7.5k and continues to make the noise all the way down to about 4.5k.

I don't feel like it should happen........

This is what mine does and I am sure it's not healthy is a lot worse when the car has been driven for a while and everything is hot. I have taken the Dv apart and it's so basic I can't see what would cause it to stick, maybe the springs not upto the job...? I have been meaning to fabricate something along the line of marks to fix it.

I'd be very keen to hear what HKS have to say on this.

If people want i could make a list of the parts i've ordered incase anyone wants to do similar. It's not cheap thou because the turbosmart valves are £120 onwards. I had no choice because i wanted to fit the water injection and at the time i want to try an atmospheric valve (regret that but glad i brought the dual port)

Without raving about the turbosmart item i do like the fact that its adjustable and with the supercharger spring fitted its very very easily operated by the engine vacuum. It took me an age to get everything working properly but i got there in the end.

I never had any issues with the HKS item thou so it will be interesting to see how this develops. It could be a simple thing like the wrong spring being sent out and it being too stiff

Wouldn't surprise me if its something they have sent wrong, along with the wrong length belt they sent me!

What spring rate should the dump valve be if we do buy an atmospheric unit. I could have a flange machined up so that I could connect a universal unit with a short silicone hose.

I wonder what the quality of the spring manufacturing process is. How close to design intent is each spring that's produced.

Happy for HKS to send me a new spring to try out. May be a simple fix.

Mines -2psi

Also it doesn't have to be atmosphere. Loads of options.

Maybe this will help. A video taken last night with Steve's (Har-vey) car.

As mentioned, it was taken up to the top end and then throttle closed. Sounds like a steam train!

Hopefully the HKS guys snooping the forum will watch the video and let us know if its "Normal" or if there is a potential issue.
