Default Supercharging Costs

I know I know.. Haven't posted here in 6 months and then all of a sudden two posts is as many days!

Considering charging my S, does anyone have any rough all in costs to do this? I know there are quite a lot of variables but if people wouldn't mind sharing their build costs, i'd really appreciate it.

Cheers,

Matt

Depends on what kit you're after.

1. ECU - AEM V2 - brand new is about 1400-1500, used is 750-800. Hondata is cheaper
2. Supercharge kit - HKS and TTS are about 4.5K
3. Fuel pump - approx 65
4. Injectors - approx 350-400
5. Map sensor - 110
6. Spark plugs - 25
7. Oil cooler - optional (350)
8. Oil filer relocation kit - optional (150)
9. Oil catch can - optional (90)
10 DIY or professional installation (free vs 700)

i might miss sth...

Cool thanks Boys2k - That's about in line with what I had suspected. Essentially I am torn between blowing the S or selling up in the summer and getting a Cayman... I don't think I can bare to part with it, so the blower will probably win!

It will need mapping (250-500 depending who you use)

I'd also add a wideband (150) and a decat (100), an OT gauge too

As an investment the pork would be better, for fun zero contest that the S would be the choice

About 18 months ago I sold my S, after 10½ years of ownership, and bought a 2007 Boxster S. I have recently been thinking about selling the Porsche & buying another S, but I would have to supercharge it. So I have also been looking at the cost to do the job. Should I do it myself or trust a garage to do it?

If you have some basic tools and a free weekend, install can be done easily enough. (True for the HKS).

I installed everything myself except ecu and injectors. Left the last bit of pipe off between intercooler and inlet. Put filter directly over the inlet and drive to your desired tuner. Will save lots of money doing the install yourself.
